LinkedIn to drop Product & Services Tabs on Your Company Page

LinkedIn Products & Services Tab Removed

As of April 14, 2014 the Products & Services tab on your Company Page will be removed. If you currently have multiple Products & Services pages you can still edit your existing products and services, but the ability to add any new products & services has already been withdrawn. LinkedIn suggest that if you wish to recover the information on these pages, that you (very scientifically, NOT) copy and paste all the information you need into your own document.

So what should you do now? Well, LinkedIn are encouraging former users of the Products & Services tab to transfer the information from these pages to a Showcase Pages.

Facebook Introduce a Streamlined Look for Brand Pages on Desktop

Facebook’s latest interface update promises to “make it easier for people to find the information they want and help Page admins find the tools they use most”. Key features of the updates include:

  • Updated Page Timeline design

Replacing the often erratic looking timeline of the last year or so, will be one column that will display all of your posts in chronological order. The left hand column, will feature information about your business such as a map, your hours of business, the company phone number and the company’s website URL, as well as any photos or videos.

  • Easier Access to key Admin Tools

Regardless of where you are on your company Page from now on, you will be able to view information about the ads you’re running, new likes the Page has received, and unread messages and notifications. New navigation options have also been added to the top of the Page that make accessing things like Page Activity, Insights, Settings and Brand Audience easier.

Facebook Company Page Update

Rumoured Tweak to Facebook’s Edgerank

Rumours that organic Facebook posts will only reach max 3% of your Page followers, due to a tweak in it’s Edgerank algorithm, are rife this week. If the rumour is true, in future, Facebook will require you to use paid ads in order to gain back the reach you were previously receiving. We’ll have to just wait and see.
