Job search has changed. And boy, has it! Half of all job searches carried out on today will be on mobile devices (a trend that’s risen by 17% in the last year alone). In fact, across the globe, the mobile job search rate is as high as 83% in some countries.

If your organisation does not currently have a mobile enabled careers site you could be missing out on 50% of potential candidates. Similarly, if you do have a mobile enabled careers site, but fail to allow job seekers apply via mobile (or the application process is too complicated), you could also be loosing up to 50% of the applications you would have received if your mobile site had this option.

It is now essential for your company to have a fully functioning, mobile optimised careers site, complete with the option to “one-click apply” or a mobile-friendly application process. Your mobile careers site must also be compatible with both iOS and Android operating systems.

Recruiters in Asia need to be extra careful when it comes to the development, presentation and ease-of-use of their employer’s mobile careers site, as the vast majority of job seekers there are using mobile as their primary job search device.

If most job seekers are using their mobiles in the evening, be sure to schedule social media updates promoting the openings on your careers site around the same time. You can do this by using Chrome extensions like Buffer or paid-for tools like HootSuite.
