Australian Job Boards

© Ed Gregory 2011

Each year we take a look at what’s hot and what’s not in the world of job boards in a variety of different countries (we’ve already looked at the UK and Ireland this year). Today, we’re taking a look at the movers and shakers of the job board world in Australia and noting where today’s job seeker is searching for jobs.

March 2016:

Rank       Website #Ranking
1. SEEK.com #28
2. Indeed.com #78
3. Careerone.com #295
4. Fiverr.com #323
5. Upwork.com #396
6. jobsearch.gov.au #587
7. Adzuna.com #939
8. Hays.com #1,105
9. GradConnection.com #1,122
10. all-the-jobs.com #1,736

*(site visitor statistics are taken from their ranking on Alexa.com, correct as of March 24, 2016)

While Indeed.com may have topped both the Irish and UK job board list, it comes second to Australia’s largest and most popular job board, SEEK. The site receives over 375 million visits every month and have over 3 million job opportunities available at any given time. They also have over 100 million jobseeker profiles.

Interestingly, two of the sites within the top five are job boards specifially targeted towards freelancers – Fiverr.com and Upwork.com. Both sites let freelance job seekers upload a profile and examples of their work for potential employers to view and book them for certain time specific tasks. This type of work is clearly growing in popularity within Australia and it will be interesting to note where these sites end up on the list next year.

As you’re well aware, jobs are the biggest indicator of economic growth in a country and overall we’re delighted to see two job sites make it into Australia’s top 100 websites – no mean feat!
