Top 25 Oddball Interview Questions

While it is generally recommended that you do your research before engaging in a job interview, when you hear the phrase “you should be ready for anything“, many of us take it with a pinch of salt. How odd or off-the-wall could questions in an interview for a Project Manager position really be?! “What do you think you could bring to the table?”, “Where do you see yourself in 5 years?” it’s all standard right? WRONG!

Glassdoor, the employer-ranking and career site, just released their list of the Top 25 Oddball Interview Questions for 2014 and believe us, you really wouldn’t want to be in the receiving end of some of them!

1. If you could throw a parade of any caliber through the Zappos office, what type of parade would it be?” – The Zappos Family, Customer Loyalty Team Member interview.

I’m thinking St. Patrick’s, although I could be quite biased there…

2.How lucky are you and why?” – Airbnb, Content Manager interview.

Clearly not lucky enough to avoid awkward interview questions.

3.If you were a pizza delivery man, how would you benefit from scissors?” – Apple, Specialist interview.

Well, I’d know where to shove them…

4. “If you could sing one song on American Idol, what would it be?” – Red Frog Events, Event Coordinator interview.

That’s easy “There’ll You Be” by Faith Hill, although I do do a mean rendition of “Baby’s Got Back”.

5.Are you more of a hunter or a gatherer?” – Dell, Account Manager interview.

I’ve always been more of a supermarket shopper to be honest.

6.If you were on an island and could only bring three things, what would you bring?” – Yahoo, Search Quality Analyst interview.
