But before we can help them deal with them, we need to identify what they are, and what better way to do that of a Friday then with copious amounts of hilarious ‘Mean Girls’ gifs?

1. Determined.
You’ve narrowed down your search. You’re ready to get this started. Let’s do this!
2. Pride.
You’re feeling good about your resume. Who wouldn’t want to hire you?
3. Eager.
You’re qualified for the position. You’ve listed all of your special skills. You’ve got this!
4. Hope.
You’ve sent out all of your applications. You’re feeling hopeful that someone will get back to you soon.
5. Anxiety.
It’s been days and all you’ve received is the generic we’ve received your response email. The anticipation is beginning to weigh on you.
6. Doubt.
Over a week has passed. You’re starting to question yourself. Did you forget to leave your phone number on your cover letter? Did you write down the wrong email address?
7. Insecurity.
You’re nervous now. You’re wondering if you went to a good enough school or if your internships were even considered valuable.
9. Denial.
Maybe it’s them! Not you. Maybe they’re the ones who are too stupid to see what you have to offer their company.
10. Irrational.
You can’t even reason with yourself at this point. You’re convinced that there is something completely wrong with you and you’ll be living in your car soon because CLEARLY no one wants to hire you.
11. Disappointed.
It’s been a month. You’re feeling like you’re wasting time. Maybe the positions have already been filled, but your hopes have been crushed and you’re sad about it.
12. Relief.
Maybe you weren’t ready for all of that responsibility anyways. What’s another night out with the girls instead?
13. Motivated.
You’re realising you need money to pay for all of those drinks..you gotta get back on that horse! So, you start revamping your resume and you start the job search all over again.
14. Excited.
An email comes in! They like you! They want an interview! Eventually all of this hard work will pay off!
