There’s been a lot of talk about the left brain versus the right brain recently, and how having a stronger leaning to a particular side of you mind can influence the way you work and play. Left brained individuals are said to be more logical and analytical favouring numbers and stats, while right brained individuals tend to be more creative favouring intuition over cold hard facts.
But what’s all this got to do with recruiters I hear you ask? Well, as LinkedIn have pointed out in their latest Talent Solutions infographic, when it comes right down to it, the modern recruiter needs to use both sides of his/her brain in order to make it in 2014. They need to be both commercially AND creatively minded. They NEED to be both an artist and a scientist.
In other words, modern recruiters are Sourcing Ninjas. They’ve mastered the art of internet recruitment by learning which tools to use and how to use them, which social databases to use and how to use them, how to sell their jobs and where to sell them, and where to contact candidates and how to engage them.
