Some interviews are enough to suck the life out of any hiring manager or recruiter. Ideally, you want enthusiastic and determined candidates strutting into your office and knocking the interview out of the ball park. Job done, candidate found! Unfortunately, that’s not always the case. From time to time, you’re left wondering why the person you’re interviewing bothered coming in to answer your questions.
Here we take a look at 10 wickedly silly answers given by some wicked candidates. Enjoy!
1. The Wordsmith
Interviewer: What is the difference between “final” and “finally” ?
Candidate: The letters “ly”.
2. The Mix-up
Interviewer: Do you know about polymorphism?
Candidate: Sir, I am afraid I have forgotten all about Chemistry. I thought this was a Computer Science interview.
Interviewer: Thank you for your time.
3. The Smart Alec
Interviewer: Do you know computer architecture?
Candidate: Not much sir.
Interviewer: Ok, tell me have you heard about Little Endian & Big Endian?
Candidate: Definitely sir, who doesn’t know about it?
Interviewer: Great! Can you tell me the difference in both?
Candidate: In the Gulliver’s travel, there were two religious sects of Lilliputians, little Endian & Big Endian. Little endian used to crack open their soft-boiled eggs from the little end and Big endian used to do it from bigger end.
Interviewer: Our HR will contact you soon.
4. They just packed up and left!
Interviewer: Why you left your previous job ?
Candidate: Previous company shifted office and they didn’t inform me new address !
5. On the missing list
Interviewer: Are you willing to travel 20 days in a month ?
Candidate: Of course, but just don’t ask me where I had gone.

Candidate: I would be a great asset to the events team because I party all the time.
